Thomas Franke

Thomas Franke is a Professor of Engineering Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics at the University of Lübeck. He has been involved in human factors and ergonomics research for over twelve years working in diverse fields such as situation awareness, driving simulation and driver education, usability of web security, acceptance of and user interaction with electric vehicles, ecodriving behaviour, system latency in human computer interaction, and user interaction with quantified self systems. He is particularly interested in contributing to methods and theories of engineering psychology and is looking forward to further developments of the field in a time that is increasingly characterized by human-technology interaction.

Since 2011 Thomas has co-authored 18 journal papers and numerous other peer-reviewed contributions to the human factors and ergonomics literature. He has been awarded the 2015 HFES Human Factors Prize on Sustainability/Resilience together with his colleagues from TU Chemnitz. Thomas is always looking forward to exchange and collaboration in the field of human-technology interaction.
