Tobias Rieger, TU Berlin

Tobias Rieger is a postdoctoral researcher at TU Berlin’s Department of Psychology and Ergonomics. At the Psychology of Action and Automation lab, Tobias’s research focuses on the effects of automated decision aids on human performance, attentional mechanisms in automation-aided decision-making, and the dynamics of trust in human-AI and human-automation interaction. He also teaches in the Human Factors program at TU Berlin.
He received his PhD under the supervision of Dietrich Manzey from TU Berlin in 2022, after completing his Master’s in Cognitive Psychology, Learning, and Work at the University of Freiburg in 2018.
Tobias has been a member of the HFES Europe Chapter since 2022 and will happily convince anyone that the Annual Meeting is his favourite conference. He contributed to the Chapter by serving on the Best Poster Award committee last year and co-organizing this year’s pre-conference workshops, one of which he is hosting on open science, a topic close to his heart.
