
Lena Kecklund, Kecklund Advisors AB
Dr. Lena Kecklund is the founder of MTO Safety, Sweden’s leading consultancy specializing in Human Factors and the Human–Technology–Organization (HTO) interaction. She has served as Senior Consultant and Managing Director for more than 25 years, contributing to the development of Human Factors methodologies and safety-critical work practices across multiple industrial sectors.
Lena has extensive international experience in managing research and consultancy projects, with a strong track record of collaboration with universities, regulatory bodies, and high-risk industries. Her work includes participation as Senior Human Factors Expert in more than ten accident investigations for the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority, as well as involvement in international investigations such as the Costa Concordia case.
Her academic and professional expertise covers accident investigation, Human Factors Engineering, Human Factors Integration, risk analysis, and safety culture. She has served as an expert for the European Union Agency for Railways, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the Nuclear Safety Council advising the CEO of Vattenfall.
Lena currently works as a senior advisor in Human Factors and HTO and serves as a nuclear safety expert on the Advisory Board of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.
