If you want to submit a website for a search engine or want to join a discussion group nowadays you have to show that you are a human and not a machine performing an automated registration.
The following is asked, interpret some scratchy cluttered shapes and show that you are able to decipher these into digits and letters. I guess the problem has become
that machines have become good at this task too, as I had no idea what to fill in here:
