Bad Ergonomics - Example 42

Invisible Scrollbar

For some web browsers you can design you own scrollbar. With aid of Style sheets (CSS or JSS) you can control all colours of the bar. It works (until now) only with Internet Explorer (version 5.5 and up), with other browsers you will just see the standard grey scrollbar.

If you use MS Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher and have JavaScript enabled, you can change the present scrollbar to the right now.

Make Scrollbar black and Invisible (but still working)
Make Scrollbar white and (almost) Invisible (but still working)
Make Scrollbar Grey

Below is what I encountered on the internet using SlimBrowser. It makes clear that websites can look very different using different browsers

Internet
Explorer 6:
Slim
Browser:
Default (e.g., Firefox, Opera, etc.):
MSIE, fancy white scrollbar Slim Browser invisible scrollbar Netscape Opera Firefox Phoenix normal scrollbar
